I heart Yosemite!

Over 2 weeks ago now, Andrew and I took a short trip down to San Francisco...with most of our time spent on a little road trip from there to Yosemite for a few days of camping...with a stop in Santa Cruz along the way. Upon arriving to SF, we discovered it was Memorial Day long weekend in the States...oops. I always thought our May long weekends happened at the same time...dang. It definitely made things difficult...especially when we hadn't reserved any places to camp etc...but we lucked out a few times. Fewf! Since it was a while ago now, I feel like just having a photo blog of our trip so enjoy!

Care for some Rice-A-Roni?

Why haven't I been blogging? It's not cuz I don't have fun stuff going on to talk about...just haven't felt like writing much I guess. But today I feel like writing...i'm in a great mood and I feel like sharing! I'll give you a little hint...if I blurted out "Rice-A-Roni" in conversation...would anything come to mind?

If you continued on by singing "...the San Francisco treat!" then you've guessed it! In 48 hours from now, Andrew and I are going to be on a plane...heading to San Francisco for a mini vacation! I'm pretty sure there won't be any eating of Rice-A-Roni on this trip however :)

I don't think i've been on a vacation since running Transrockies in Colorado last August so it's definitely about time! I've never been to SF but our time there will be brief as what we're mainly going to do on this trip is hike and camp (with maybe a little run in there somewhere :) in Yosemite!!!

I'm freakin pumped to be going there...only wish we could stay longer but i'm sure we will make the most of every minute there! We booked our flight in early January and finally the trip is here! Andrew and I spent the day yesterday getting all of our gear ready for the trip and also spending a little money at MEC on some things we needed.

I'll be back next Tuesday and promise to update soon after with a good blog post and some sweet pics of our trip! :)

Oh, Hello Winter...back so soon?

Winter storm warning for
City of Calgary issued

Intermittent rain changing to snow by Thursday morning. Snowfall amounts of 10 to 20 centimetres by Thursday evening in most localities.

Oh my...why did all of us Calgarians think we were in the clear after the last couple of months of fabulous springlike weather? Winter always comes back to bite us in the ass...when will we ever learn?!

Wednesday has begun with cold weather and pouring rain...and then I guess it'll change to snow later and into tomorrow. I'll take another pic tomorrow to see if we really did get what they called for. At any rate, i've got a date with the treadmill again at lunch. Fun times.

This weather likely changes any running plans I may have had for the weekend...but perhaps in a good way. If we're going to be getting this snow in Calgary, we'd better be getting a load of it in Banff so I can get one final and fabulous ski day in this year. Then I promise to do a longish run on Sunday! I've got to get out of this 10-12km safe zone i've been running in and test my foot out on some longer stuff...otherwise maybe i'll be resorting to only 5 or 10km races all summer!

Less than a month to go and i'm heading to San Francisco with Andrew for a little vacay. Most of it will be spent in Yosemite camping and hiking, wahoo!! I'm sure we can fit in a little trailrunning as well :)
